The working fluid (pure water or antifreeze) circulates in the coil of the closed cooling tower. The heat of the working fluid diffuses into the water flowing through the coil. At the same time, the air outside the unit enters from the air inlet grille on the side of the unit, which is perpendicular to the flow direction of water. It flows upward through the coil. A small part of the water evaporates and absorbs the heat. The hot and wet air is discharged into the atmosphere by the fan on the top of the cooling tower. The rest of the water falls into the bottom pan and is recycled by the pump to the water distribution system and back to the coil.
